Travel Info

Guests who are interested in a pilgrimage experience should book with a pilgrimage group, which is all-inclusive and will provide travel, rooms, food, and guide in Medjugorje. We highly recommend this option for all who are interested in learning more about Medjugorje or traveling there for the first time!

The wedding coincides with one of the most exciting times of the year in Medjugorje – the Anniversary of the first Apparitions. For more information about pilgrimages or to book with a group please contact:

FLIGHTS

For anyone who is coming independent of a group, the 3 closest airports to Medjugorje are Dubrovnik Airport, Split Airport, and Sarajevo Airport.
Because the wedding is during a high travel season, you will likely get the best price if you book early – prices for the same flights booked in December or January are often more reasonable than they are if you book them in April or May.

ACCOMMODATIONS

If you travel with a pilgrimage group, your accommodations will be included in your package. Pansions in Medjugorje book very quickly at the Anniversary time. If you are traveling on your own you can find accommodations on www.booking.com including:

CURRENCY

Most places in Medjugorje accept US Dollars. All accept Euros and Bosnian Marks. Cab rides in Medjugorje cost 5 Euros or 8 Dollars, and it’s always helpful to have exact change set aside for a few rides since most cab drivers don’t have exact change in different denominations.

WEATHER

The temperatures in June are typically between 60-95 degrees Farenheit.

CLOTHING

Because Medjugorje is a place of religious pilgrimage, the church has requested that no shorts and tank tops are worn in or around the church of St. James, Cross Mountain, or Apparition Hill. Light clothing, layers, and sneakers are recommended as you will most likely be walking. It can often be hot during the day and cool in the evening, so it’s recommended to pack clothing that will reflect these varying temperatures.

Attire for the wedding is formal.

TIME CHANGE

Medjugorje is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time and 9 hours ahead of Pacific Time. You might be jetlagged for a few days, but it will be worth it :)
